Marvels of the Altiplano in Codpa Valley Lodge

With a privileged geographic position, in the middle of main tourist attractions, Codpa Valley Lodge benefits from an exceptionnal microclimate, over the coast fogs (camanchaca) but under the high plateaus’ low temperatures. At 1.950 m.a.s.l. its altitude is pleasant and affordable for everyone.

The Lodge capacity is 30 persons in 16 Cabins. Its restaurant is open all year round. Moreover, among its facilities there is a swimming pool.

Codpa Valley Lodge is the best choice to discover the beauties of the northern part of Chile, the Chinchorro culture and the Inca sanctuaries, with first category and varied itinearies.

Day 01: Arica - Codpa Valley Lodge

Reception at the Arica Airport (or hotel). We will visit the Azapa Valley and its Archaeological Museum. Lunch at the Arica Fishing Cove. We will head south towards Codpa Valley. Arrival in the village of Codpa, a nice oasis located in a deep canyon. Here we will visit the church.

Dinner and overnight in Codpa Valley lodge. (L,D)

Day 02: Codpa - Putre

The second day we will visit the Ofragia Petroglyphs. Then we will take the road to the prealtiplanic villages. We will visit Timar, Tignamar and Saxamar. Short trekking to Chitune baths. Box lunch. We follow the drive to Belen, Chaquipiña and Zapahuira. Short excursion to Putre, an important village at the base of Tarapacá Volcano, relax in the hot springs of Jurasi, Hotel.(B,L,D)

Day 03: Putre - Lake Chungara - Salar de Surire (Surire salt flat) - Codpa

Full day excursion to the High Plateaus. We will discover the Altiplano visiting the Lauca National Park and Lauca Lake. Then, we cross several villages to get to the owe-inspiring beauty of the Surire Salt Flat. Lunch and thermal bath at Pollequere Hot Springs. We circle the salt lake and drive down to Codpa Valley lodge for a good rest.(B,L,D)

Day 04: Codpa Valley Lodge – Caleta Vitor - Arica

We will depart from Codpa valley to Arica. Visit and lunch at Caleta Vitor, a nice oasis at the sea shore. Transfer to Arica Airport or hotel. (B,L)
